Happy New Year everyone! Whether you celebrated more than a day ago in Australia or East Asia, or you’re still halfway through your day in California, we hope you’ve gotten a wonderful, game-filled start to your year!
We’re particularly excited, because 2023 will be the year that Factions of Sol makes its way across the world and into your home. Looking back on the last 4 months since the launch of our campaign, your incredible support and engagement has brought us farther than we imagined. This year, we’re proud to be hard at work to bring you Factions of Sol as soon as possible.
Since our last update, we’ve converted our Solo game mode to a modular difficulty system, so players can fine-tune their difficulty for maximum replayability. We’ve also re-designed the Voidwalkers mini for the Underdogs Expansion, finalized our playmats, and collectively spent hours explaining Factions of Sol to our confused elder relatives.
We hope your year is filled with joy, and we can’t wait to spend 2023 with you all.

Charging Cards Tomorrow at 5pm!

Happy holidays everyone! Whether you started celebrating Hanukkah on Sunday, or you’re looking forward to Christmas on the 25th, the start of Kwanzaa on the 26th, or any other holiday, we hope you get plenty of time for rest, time with loved ones, and of course…board gaming time!
This is your reminder that we’ll be charging cards tomorrow on the 21st at 5pm, CST. This charge will be for your shipping, and for any other add-ons you purchased through Backerkit. We know that the holidays can be a tough time for everyone financially, so please reach out directly to [email protected] if you need any help!
In our neck of the woods, the design team is chugging away to make sure every asset is ready for production. We’ve re-finalized and proofed our playmats, Neptune cards, and gave our Solo cards a lovely makeover! Now, we’re finishing fine-tuning all our Stellar Events and your stretch goal Scenario Book modes.
We at Mark IV Games are just as excited as ever to get the game to your doorstep, and we wish you happy times as we (in the Northern Hemisphere) head into the darkest time of year.

Last Day to Change Your Orders

- Today’s the last day to change your orders on BackerKit!
The long version:
Tomorrow at 9am, CST, we’ll be locking all BackerKit orders–so if you wanted to purchase any add-ons, or make changes to your order, make sure to do that today! You can access your BackerKit cart by opening your survey email, and selecting “edit your order.”
After that, we’ll be charging cards on December 21st, and you can change your shipping address at any point if you need.
With your orders locked, we’ll be able to give final quantities to our manufacturing partner, HeroTime, and help them start to prepare for the full production run.

Survey Deadline Extended: Orders Locking in One Week

- We’re extending the BackerKit survey deadline for one more week! Fill out your survey by November 29th.
- The Team is chugging towards starting manufacturing! We’re finalizing more assets, and the new game modes in our Scenario Book are ready for play!

Survey Deadline Extended
We’ve still got some stragglers, so we’re extending the survey for one more week before we lock orders. Make sure to fill out your survey by November 29th so we can get you your rewards!
Some helpful reminders:
- If you’re having trouble finding it, check out Update #12 for tips
- If your shipping address is in Chicago or Atlanta, remember to choose “Local Pick-up” under the countries tab to get free delivery.
- Organize a shipping group and email [email protected] if you want to lower your shipping costs! See Update #14 for more details.
Finalizing Game Design
For the last several weeks the team has been working hard to get the game ready for manufacturing, and it’s looking better than ever! We’ve already formatted, finalized, and approved hundreds of assets (all punchouts, most of our cards, faction playmats, expansion components, the color design for our plastic pieces, and more).
We’ve also been playtesting the game modes that YOU unlocked in our Scenario Book stretch goal, which offer entirely new strategies, win conditions, and gameplay experiences for all player counts and levels of play. We’re so excited to see you get your hands on these new ways of playing Factions of Sol!

Group Shipping Discounts! Fill Out Your Survey (New Deadline)

- We’re extending the deadline for BackerKit surveys to Tuesday, November 22nd. Make sure to fill out your survey!

Happy Tuesday everyone! It’s been a little over a month since we closed our Kickstarter, and our BackerKit is going STRONG! Here are a few important announcements to kick off (or end) your beautiful November day.
Group Shipping
We all know shipping costs are high because of the pandemic and supply-chain issues, so we’re now offering group shipping as a way to try and lower those costs whenever we can! So how does it work?
First, get a group together of people in your area! The more people in your group, the less you’ll pay for shipping. When you have your group, send an email to [email protected], and we’ll set you up with more instructions. Then, we’ll ship your group’s rewards together, and charge you a discounted rate later. During fulfillment, you pick up your rewards from your Group Contact!
New Survey Deadline
To give you more time to finish your surveys, we’ve extended the survey deadline to Tuesday, November 22nd. Make sure to fill out your survey as soon as you can!
We can’t get you your rewards without your information, and as much as we’d love to hold onto your stuff, we can only fit so many board games in Elam’s apartment. If you’re having issues accessing the survey, look at Update #13 for tips, or let us know through Kickstarter!
The team is getting even more excited about this next step in the process, and with your help, we’ll be in a great place to keep fulfillment on track!
